Do I have to book using the App?

No, you can also book by telephone – 01728 635 939, Monday to Friday 8.30am to 4.30pm or complete an online booking request form (see Book Now section). Please note that booking request forms can only be received and actioned during office hours, Monday to Friday 8.30am to 4.30pm.

Do I have to book in advance?

We need at least an hour’s notice of a booking. Please check availability either from the App or by telephone.

Where can I download the App?

The App can be downloaded either from the Apple store or Google play – just look for Flexiroute 365 Passenger App.

Can I flag the bus down if I see it on the road?

No the Katch bus service has to be pre-booked by using any of the booking methods available.

How much is the fare?

Fares are in line with those of other bus operators and vary depending on the mileage of your journey. The fare table is provided below. Young people can use an Endeavour Card for their journey which allows them a discount. Free Endeavour Cards are available for 16-19 year olds from Suffolk County Council.

How long is the return fare valid for?

A return fare is valid on the day it is issued.

How can the fare be paid for?

Pay by contactless on the bus (signal providing) or cash on the bus. 

Please note if you do not show up for your journey and do not cancel it within 24 hours before you travel, you will be charged the full fare.

What are the operating times of the bus?

Monday – Friday 7.30am – 6.30pm

Saturday 10.00am – 6.30pm

Bank Holidays 10.00am – 6.00pm

There is no service operating on a Sunday.

How many customers can use the bus at once?

The Katch bus can accommodate 11 passengers and has room for 1 wheelchair.

Who is operating the Katch bus service?

This is a joint pilot scheme between East Suffolk Council and Coastal Accessible Transport Services.

What if I want to travel to somewhere else along the route?

The Connecting Communities pre-booked service, operated by Coastal Accessible Transport Services within east Suffolk, can possibly take you to other locations such as Saxmundham or Aldeburgh. For further information about pick up possibilities, please visit the Connecting Communities website. The fare system is mileage based, the same as for the Katch bus.
